The question of how to fulfil God’s will has always been one that most people ask themselves at some point in life. Also, this question or thought often comes up when it seems there is sometimes lacking in our lives. And this does not necessarily mean when we lack finances because there are also well-to-do people that also seek this goal.
But here is a fact; when it comes to fulfilling and remaining in the will of God, you and I are the ones responsible for not making it a reality yet. Why is this so? The simple answer is that there are things that must be done to experience God’s fulfilment in our lives. But little do we know that we have always been making this unrealisable through the negligence of things to do or the desire to get it done in our ways (outside of God’s guidance).
Fulfilling and remaining in the will of God through His Word
The good news is that God already made required provision for us to find and to continuously remain in His will. And guess what? The road map to this is right in His Word. The Word of God which is the Holy Bible happens to be one of God’s communication channels with us. But we must be ready to dig deep into His Word and also act upon His guidance and instruction to work in His will.
The Word says in Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have success.”
The above verse simply makes us understands that the Bible is God’s book of the law which is the same thing as the book holding instructions on how we can please God. To be frank, there is no fulfilment of God’s will without pleasing Him. This is because the road map to fulfilling and remaining in His will is ONLY through pleasing Him. Likewise, the above verse emphasised that you need to meditate in the Word both day and night and more importantly, you MUST do according to the instruction and guidance you come across in the Book. Then, your desire to fulfil God’s will becomes a success.
What more is His Word telling us?
Seeking God’s Kingdom in righteousness: Mathew 6: 33 says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” This simply means in seeking to fulfil the will of God among other desires; you must seek His kingdom first with a righteous heart. And how can you seed His kingdom? It’s by abiding with the commandant laid out all through the Bible.
Similarly, you need the help of the Holy Spirit for the smooth actualisation of God’s will. John 16:13 says the presence of the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. This means with the help of the Holy Spirit; we shall further be enlightened on what more to do in fulfilling and also remaining in the will of God aside from the guidance readily available in His Word. However, on our side, we must show sincere willingness and readiness to comply with God’s instructions in fulfilling His will. And since God never let down those that seek Him in truth, remaining in His will, will be an easy achievement for you.
