Psalm 91:1, Psalm 23,
In the Old and New testaments, “SECRET PLACE” appears to the reflex of how our soul is in relationship with GOD, Elohim. Psalm 27, verse 5 says
“For HE will hide me in His shelter in the day of trouble; He will conceal me under the cover of His tent; He will lift me high upon a rock.”
The tent of GOD is not a visible tent made of earthly materials. This is the word in Hebrew, OHEL (CETHER) refers to a place to hide or be concealed – a secret place. A secret place is a place of refuge or a hidden place of security. When I was in the military, there were some hidden and secure places where we hid away from the enemies and ran to whenever we perceived danger. A place of safety. Jesus Christ taught us in the gospel of Mathew, chapter 6 verse 6, on how to pray in a secret place and we also see Him praying to God in a secret place in the following verses: Mark 1:35, Luke 4:42.
You may want to ask, ‘Why should I spend time alone with God’? Relationships and friendships grow closer through the spending of time together. Under normal circumstances and in a loving relationship, when you spend time with your biological father, you can express yourself freely and probably more so than other children that are not his. It is the same with God. When we spend quality times with our heavenly Father Jehovah, we experience a kind of freedom that even surpasses that of our earthly parents. We express ourselves to Him and we allow Him to speak with us directly through His Word (the bible) not just the old testament or the new testament alone but the entire bible, as well as through prayer.
The new Testament is the continuation of the Old Testament, the Will of God is not fulfilled by one of the Testaments alone. An orange tree is useless without its fruit (orange), and the fruit will not continue to produce without the tree that is rooted in the soil.
This is a fundamental principle of growth and advancement.
Similarly, the will of God is in His Word and the Word is found in both the New or the Old testament.
When you spend time with someone, you learn more about the person, especially when you love the person, you may even find yourself begin to exhibit certain characteristics as them.
There is a proverb that says, “birds of the same feather flock together.” When you spend time with God in the secret place of your heart, in humility, you will be connected to the secret place of the Most High God.
Roman 8:5-8 says, “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. “
Prepare yourself to be in the secret place of God.
Ephesians chapter 5 shows us how to prepare ourselves for a holy relationship with God Almighty, El-Shaddai.
Our Lord Jesus Christ says “The one who has my commandments (the Law/Word) and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and reveal Myself to him”.
The secret place of God is where you should always be. The secret place of GOD is guaranteed, I repeat, GUARANTEED, and you can only be there alone with HIM and away from any distraction.
While I can lead you to the secret place of God, I cannot make you stay there. That is up to you. Your relationship with Yahweh is personal. We all have different servanthood callings from God.
Psalm 91:1-2 says “He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of El-Shaddai. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust’”.
Abiding in God, we find shelter, refuge, and fortress. It is in the secret place that we are most vulnerable with God and deeply experience His intimate love as well as His peaceful fatherhood protection.
In the military, there are rules of operations governing the refuge and the security (bunkers) Many special codes are used to gain access to and stay in the secret place.
In the home where you live, you will either have the keys to the entrances and/or codes to open certain doors and treasure safes, and outsiders cannot have permission to enter (unless it is granted), neither will they have the right to enjoy the benefits of the householders. Occasionally outsiders may attempt to or even succeed in forcing themselves into the premises. However, they will be called intruders, trespassers, thieves and robbers.
In the perfect secret place, the hidden place of the Highest God, Jehovah Nissi, this is not so; you cannot go in without the code. It is not possible to gate crash. The key to enter the abode of GOD IS TO ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR. The code to operate in God’s abode is REMAINING IN GOD’S WILL.
The question of how to fulfil God’s will has always been one that most people ask themselves at some point in life. Also, this question or thought often comes up when it seems there is something lacking in our lives. It is a question that is asked by the rich and the poor alike.
But here is a fact; when it comes to fulfilling and remaining in the will of God, you and I are the ones responsible for making it a reality. Why is this so? The simple answer is that there are things that must be done in order to experience God’s fulfilment in our lives. But little do we know that we oftentimes make this unrealisable either through the negligence of doing the right things or the desire to get things done in our own way(s) (outside of God’s guidance).
Fulfilling and remaining in the will of God through His Word is the ultimate goal. The good news is that God already made the required provision for us to find and to continuously remain in His will. And guess what? The road map to this is right in His Word. The Word of God which is the Holy Bible happens to be the major channel of God’s communication channels with us. But we must be ready to dig deep into His Word and act upon His guidance and instruction to work in His will.
The Word says in Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law (commandments) shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have success.” Remember the New Commandment that our great brother, our master Lord Jesus commanded us in John 13:34 “…A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another”. God promised us in Jeremiah 31:31-32 that the days will come that He make a new covenant with His children.
God gave us a new commandment through His first born that we must love one another before we can reside in His secret place. John 13:34-35. Joshua 1 simply makes us to understand that the Bible is God’s book of the law which is the same thing as the book holding instructions on how we can please God. To be frank, there is no fulfilment of God’s will without pleasing Him. This is because the road map to fulfilling and remaining in His will is ONLY through pleasing Him. Likewise, the above verse emphasised that you need to meditate in the Word both day and night and more importantly, you MUST do according to the instruction and guidance you come across in the Book. Then, your desire to fulfil God’s will becomes a success.
When you are in the secret place of God, He will give you the hidden riches of secret places as He promised in Isaiah 45:3. For that promise to be fulfilled, Jesus Christ said in Mathew 6: 33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” This simply means in seeking to fulfil the will of God among other desires; you must seek His kingdom first with a righteous heart. And how can you seek His kingdom? It is by abiding with the commandments laid out all through the Bible.
Similarly, you need the help of the Holy Spirit for the smooth actualisation of God’s will. John 16:13 says the presence of the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. This means with the help of the Holy Spirit; we shall further be enlightened on what more to do in fulfilling and remaining in the will of God aside from the guidance readily available in His Word. However, on our own part, we must show sincere willingness and readiness to comply with God’s instructions in fulfilling His will. And since God never lets down those that seek Him in truth, remaining in His will, will be an easy achievement for you.
You are to love your neighbours as God loves the world by giving His begotten Son Jesus Christ, John 3:16. Jesus Christ is the “Word” from Genesis to Revelation; 1:1-5.
Finally, my Lord Jesus Christ says in the book of Revelation chapter 21 verse against the lovers of evil, “that as for the cowardly, the untrustworthy, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those involved with the occult and with drugs, idol-worshippers, and all liars — their destiny is the lake burning with fire and sulphur, the second death. “
I do not want you to go hell in eternity, today is your day of repentance. Do not delay.
Yeshua the Messiah is the Way, the Truth and Life. No one can see God except through His Son. He is the Door to the Father.
