Do you find that sometimes, you are not able to make sense of the goings on in the world?
What if I told you that there is a Higher Being who can help you do that?
Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed with life and wonder at it’s purpose and meaning?
Do you sometimes long for peace – whatever that may be?
What if I told you that there is a way that you can get that?
And what if I told you that you can get it for free. No strings attached?
Have you heard of the story of a man who was born purposely to give up his own life as it were, any earthly pleasures, entitlement, time and those things that human beings crave and enjoy just so that others can enjoy their lives fully?
This man was born to sacrifice his own life. To give you his life for the peace, healing, deliverance,, and to pay the price for all these as well as your wrongdoings of men. And he fully agreed. Not only did he agree to do it but he also went through with it.
He went through with it even though in the end, when reality hit him when the harsh reality of a certain painful death faced him, he became deeply troubled and asked to be let off that painful sacrifice. Yet, even then, he stated, only if it was the will of the one who sent him for him to be let off.
Hear what this man said to the one who sent him to die for countless others who did not know him or regard him in any way: “Not my will but yours be done.”
Here was a man whose entire existence had not been his own will but the will of a higher being; his master.
He served this master faithfully to the end of his life. Till the very end.
When he became weary,
When he was troubled,
When he was insulted,
When he was disbelieved
When he was taunted
And finally, when he was being put to death,
His thoughts and his words were that the will of that master must be done.
Till he drew his last breath and his mission on earth was accomplished.
What is more, the life of this man was exemplary to the core. Imagine being derided, inflicted with wounds, beaten and dying, and still asking for forgiveness for those who were inflicting him with wounds and torturing him. His tormentors, carried on taunting him not knowing that he was doing all this for their sake. So that they might have eternal life.
Neither did they comprehend either that the only reason that they had been able to afflict him at all was because it had been ordained by a higher being, this man’s master several years earlier that it must be so. Not only had it been ordained, it had been predicted and it had also been written.
There are records of this writings and they are contained in a book of scriptures. The bible.
The man that willingly gave his own life so that others may live is called Jesus Christ. Yes. You may have noticed that I say “is” and not “was.” That is because even though that man eventually died, on the third day after his death, he rose again. Yes, he came alive. He overcame death, sin just as it had been planned all along by the master.
His resurrection from death proffered victory for mankind; as many as would believe in the sacrifice that this man made and in who he is. I introduced him as Jesus Christ but that is not all. To those of you who that name does not mean a thing, That man, Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the in,y begotten Son of God.
And you may be wondering where God comes into all this?
That master, the higher being who sent this man Jesus Christ , His only begotten Son to die for the sins of the world is Jehovah God. The creator of the whole Universe. The I AM THAT I AM.
Why did he put his only begotten son through this?
Because of His unfailing love for mankind that he created but who had gone their own way. Well away from His principles, His will. Who were going to perish unless He, God did something to save them.
Hear what was also written in the book of scriptures about why God did it. You can also check it for yourself as well as everything else that I have stated here.
This can be found in the bible, in the book of John, chapter 3 verse 16. And here is what it says,
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
It is either that or mankind perishes in their sin.
And the book of 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 9 also states this.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
God, the creator of the universe loves his creation so much, they deviated away from His way, from what was right. Unless something was done, God’s creation whom He loves would face eternal damnation. His Son Jesus Christ paid the price for mankind’s derailment, the sins. Mankind now has this precious gift. This wonderful opportunity to be saved and to inherit eternal life. All because of Jesus Christ won and he lives. By the way, Jesus Christ is now seated at the right hand of his master and Father and God. Who just so happens to be mankind’s Father and God.
Mankind is every human being created by God. It is you and me.
What a great God the creator of the universe is!
Of course, the world would and has gone to great lengths to deny His existence but the decision is yours to make. For God loves mankind however, He would not force His love or ways on anyone.
My question to you now is, “have you accepted this precious gift?” The gift of love, of eternal life with Christ Jesus. The gift that came by Jesus Christ paying the ultimate price.
If, at this point, you are convinced that God loves you and you are willing to accept this gift of eternal life with Christ Jesus by confessing him as your lord and saviour,
Then say this prayer after me,
I am sorry for my sins
I ask you to forgive me of my sins
I believe that you are the son of God
I believe that you died for me
I believe that you rose again
I ask you to be the Lord of my life from now and forever.
Amen and Amen.
If you said this prayer, I say a huge congratulations!
